Beat butter, sugar, and vanilla till light and fluffy.  Add flour and nuts: blend well.  Shape dough around unwrapped kisses, using about one tablespoon dough for each.  Roll into balls.  Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375 for 12 minutes.  Roll in confectioners sugar when warm.  Cool. Roll in confectioners sugar again.  Store.
