  Apple Slices

  2 Cups Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
3/4 Cups Shortening
1/2. Cup Water
1 TBLS. Lemon juice
2  Egg yolks
10 or more  Apples - Tart cooking
1 Cup Sugar
1/4 tsp. Salt
1 Tbls. Flour
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
 
  <p>Mix ingred. for crust.</p><p>Flour, baking powder, salt, and cut in shortening.&nbsp; ADD: lemon juice, yolks and water minus 1 TBLS. water.</p><p>Roll out the dough to fit a jelly roll pan. Half on the bottom and half for top crust.</p><p>Mix apples and rest of ingred.</p><p>Pour apples on bottom crust. Roll out the top crust and put on apples. Prick top with a fork.</p><p>Bake 350&nbsp; - 1 hour</p><p>When cooled frost.</p><p>FROSTING:</p><p>1 Cup powdered sugar&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 1/2 stick soft butter&nbsp;&nbsp; vanilla&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; milk</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
