  Sausage Pasta Bake

  1 Pound Ziti
1 Pound Italian sausage
1 15 oz.  Ricotta cheese
1  Egg
1 Large Yellow onion
2 Tsp. Garlic, minced
1 Tsp. Dried oregano
1/2 Tsp. Salt
1/2 Tsp. Black pepper
1 1/2 Jars (26oz Spaghetti sauce
1 8 oz. Shredded Italian cheese
1 Tsp. Dried basil
 
  <p>Preheat oven : &nbsp;350. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>Grease a 9 X 13 baking dish</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Cook and drain pasta.</p><p>While pasta is cooking cook sausage. Drain and set aside.</p><p>Stir together ricotta, egg, onion, garlic, oregano mix until well combined. &nbsp;Stir in the drained pasta, salt, pepper and 1/2 the jar of sauce. &nbsp;Mix well.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In prepared baking dish cover with 1/3 jar of sauce. &nbsp;Layer 1/2 the pasta, 1/3 jar sauce and 1/2 the cheese. &nbsp;Repeat. Sprinkle with basil.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Cover the dish tightly with foil. &nbsp;Bake 20 minutes. &nbsp;Uncover and bake 5 - 10 minutes more until cheese is melted.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>* When I made this I didn&#39;t have ricotta so I put cottage cheese in the bullet until it was smooth and it worked out fine.</p><p>* I also used 3 garlic cloves. I didn&#39;t measure it but tasted great.</p><p>* I also sauted the onions before mixing them in.&nbsp;</p>
