  Grandma Foley's Brownies

  2 cups Flour
2 cups sugar
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 cup Butter
1 Cup Water
4 Tablespoon Cocoa
1/2 Cup Buttermilk
2 Beaten Eggs
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1/2 Cup Butter
4 Tablespoon Cocoa
1/3 Cup Buttermilk
1 Box Powdered Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
 
 

 

 

 

Sift flour, sugar and baking soda together.

Combine butter, water and cocoa in a saucepan and bring to a boil. 

Add to flour mixture and beat well

Add Buttermilk, eggs and vanilla

Pour into 12 x 15 greased Jelly Roll Pan 

 

 

FOR FROSTING: (Make Frosting 5 minutes before cake is done)

Combine 1/2 cup Butter, 4 rounded tablespoons and buttermilk in a saucepan, bring to a boil.  Remove from heat and beat in powdered sugar and vanilla.  Beat til smooth. Spread immediately on cake
