  2 packages Active Dry Yeast
1 Cup Warm Water
1/4 Cup Sugar
1 1/4 TBLS Salt
2 Whole Eggs, Beaten
1 Cup Milk
1/2 Cup Butter
1/4 Cup Shortening
6 1/2 Cups Flour
 
  <ol><li>In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.&nbsp; <br /></li><li>Add Sugar, salt, and eggs.</li><li>In a separate mixing bowl, place 6 1/2 cups flour, room tempurature butter and shortening.&nbsp; Mix together with fingers.</li><li>Add half of flour mixture to large mixing bowl, beat until smooth.</li><li>Add remaining flour to form soft dough.</li><li>Turn onto a floured surface, knead until smooth and elastic (6-8 minutes).</li><li>Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top.</li><li>Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 1 hour).</li><li>Punch dough down.</li><li>Divide in half and shape into loaves.</li><li>Place in two greased 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pans.</li><li>Cover and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).&nbsp; </li></ol>
