2 packages Active Dry Yeast
1 Cup Warm Water
1/4 Cup Sugar
1 1/4 TBLS Salt
2 Whole Eggs, Beaten
1 Cup Milk
1/2 Cup Butter
1/4 Cup Shortening
6 1/2 Cups Flour

- In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
- Add Sugar, salt, and eggs.
- In a separate mixing bowl, place 6 1/2 cups flour, room tempurature butter and shortening. Mix together with fingers.
- Add half of flour mixture to large mixing bowl, beat until smooth.
- Add remaining flour to form soft dough.
- Turn onto a floured surface, knead until smooth and elastic (6-8 minutes).
- Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 1 hour).
- Punch dough down.
- Divide in half and shape into loaves.
- Place in two greased 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pans.
- Cover and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
