1 Cup Sugar
2 TBLS Flour
1 TBLS Ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
6 Tart Apples, pealed, cored, diced
1 TBLS Butter
4 Cups Flour
2 tsp Salt
1 1/2 Cups Shortening
1/4 Cup Cold Water

<p>For the Filling:</p><ol><li>Mix the sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg with the apples and set aside.</li></ol><p>For the Crust:</p><ol><li>Mix the flour and salt with the shortening until crumbly.</li><li>Add cold water and knead.</li><li>Roll out 1/2 of the dough and place in an 8-inch pie tin.</li><li>Cut off extra dough and poke with fork to prevent air bubbles.</li><li>Place the apple mixture in the pan on top of the dough.</li><li>Roll out the other half of the dough and place on top of the apples.</li><li>Pinch dough around the edges to seal it.</li><li>Poke top of pie with a fork gently</li><li>Sprinkle top with sugar </li></ol>
